Visited this cafe for the first time, my friends had visited before with the previous management. The food was great, the service was prompt and we got excellent advice from the waiter, which turned out to be exactly what we wanted. I loved it. My friends were concerned at first, but very pleased with the result. As one said "New Management, but still excellent food".

Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday evening and there was a 40 minutes wait for a table for 6. No issues on the waiting time as it’s expected of on a weekend. Had a Tasting Platter, Penne Al Vodka and a Capricciosa (to share). The Tasting Platter was served shortly after ordering and it was delightful. The Penne Al Vodka however, was somewhat of a letdown. The taste was good granted, but the penne was slightly overcooked. My sister’s Ravioli was also overcooked, but as we had a long day at Rottnest we were famished. Heard great things of Il Ciao prior to my visit, but overcooked pasted can hardly be tolerated, especially in an Italian restaurant.

Wait staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere nice - very busy. But food was not good. Seafood spaghetti - spaghetti overcooked, frozen seafood used, little taste, and took nearly 40 minutes to come out.

Been there a few times now, Each time has been great. Real family vibe, great portion sizes, awesome food, service is top notch. Great to see some new faces, new owners are very friendly and happy to hear that familiar staff and cooks are staying on and the restaurant is not changing.

Perfect taste, did remind me of when we were in Italy. last night was the first time we went to this lovely restaurant but it is certainly not going to be last time. Loved their service. It is little loud in their but I guess that makes it a family restaurant.

We went to il Ciao as a family and the atmosphere was wonderful. The food was amazing, and the new owners went out of their way to make sure our night was perfect. The owners are so invested in their business and it really does show. 10/10 from this family!

Went and had dinner here with the family the other night and it was awesome... The service was on point with friendly small talk and the food was AMAZING! Would highly recommend to anyone in the area to pop on in and enjoy.

Visited many times and was a great family Italian . I picked up a take away lasagne on Friday , service speedy but lasagne was all pasta, no taste . Sorry I thought something had changed , or guys were on holiday , but I hear it was sold . That’s is progress , but not if in pursuit of payback the food suffers . I’m in perth foodies and my opinion is common. Advice is just up the quality to old standard and you will retain customer base , but if it drops further ….
